'Priestess' is a natural extension of your bias (a blessedly charming bias, though mired in understandable confusion). What we are seeing here is neither a female, nor a backward facing, fancifully dressed bystander. So what do we have? A headless warrior? If this is presently your thought, you have been reading too much Celtic mythology. No. The apparent long tress of black hair is actually a beard, oh the silky charms of facial excrescence, proving that what one sees is not always as convincing as what is.
"und des herbstwindes brausen,

für wen wohl ertönt

ReplyDeletewhat bias? i don't think i understand this one...
Deletebut i have debated whether to post a photo with the head as well, which was lovely but it lacked this mystery and the stress upon the magic wand :-)
What bias? In opting for 'Priestess' you have assigned a definite gender to the wand bearing reveller.
Deletei, taking a more reasoned position--since photographic proof doesn't hold a candle to the muppetry of the imagination--am proposing bearded 'priest.'
oh i see... i couldn't follow you there as i was too much lost in reveries about mikos, i couldn't even imagine another possibility...
